I got this statistic from Rajar.co.uk, the statistic shows that '90% of the population' listen to radio per week. What i learn from the statistic is that radio is still and has become more and more popular. 90% of the population still listen to the radio highlighting that radio has not become extinct, and it is still going and competing with new forms of technology. As Technology has advanced, people have wider access when listening to radio. You can listen to radio on your phone, through the internet. You can listen to radio on a chosen website but also have the opportunity to "watch" the radio as now you can watch presenters on the internet whilst they broadcast to the UK.

First Draft of Script

UK Anti-Cuts Script
Time:             10:00am
Reporter:      Shima Begum
Date:              25/10/12

Thousands today, march at the UK Anti-cuts demonstration at Hyde Park.

Protestors are outraged due to the Government and cuts made by the Prime Minister David Cameron alongside the Lib-Dem Party.

Political Parties at the march have joined together to form a resistance against the Government, in hoping to push for change and Government policies.

Our reporter Shima Begum has this report.

ME (Shima): As you can  hear, the crowd have gone wild.

There’s absolute chaos, people are chanting there’s cue cards banners everywhere.

I can really feel the frustrations that these people have against the government.

I have with me the member of the socialist worker party Mr Adam Helmsley,

Hiya Adam want to ask why are you here today and what sort of effect do you think this protest rally will have.

(Inserted Speech)

Thank you very much,

You can hear around me the noise is buzzing with chaos.

Beating of drums, people chanting, cue cards, banners are everywhere.

I can really feel the frustrations of these parties have against the government.

I have here with me a member of the socialist worker party Mr Adam Helmsley.

Hello Adam, I want to ask as to why you are here today?

And what sort of affect do you think this protest rally will have?

(Insert….)

Unfortunately we could not get a response from the conservative party

However, Conservative Party Chairman Grant Shapps, appeared in an interview

Expressing his views on the presence of Ed Miliband the leader of the Labour Party at the protest.

“At today’s march, Ed Miliband will be among friends - supporting his union donors who oppose every single one of our spending cuts. You can’t be serious about clearing the deficit when you attend a march that calls for an end to austerity.”

Thank you very much. My name is Shima begum reporting for Trio FM news.

Olympic Story

This newspaper inspired one of my Stories. For my Voxpop, I decided to base my story on this newspaper article on the Olympics, my Voxpop is where myself and my group asked local people what they think should be done about the Olympic Stadium.
I am a keen and avid sports fan so I initially wanted a sports story incorporated in my newscast. Another reason why I wanted a story based around the Olympics, because I had the opportunity to watch a few games at the Olympic Park, but also had the chance to enter the Olympic Stadium, TWICE! :). Being part of East London, I was fully involved with the Olympic spirit and therefore it felt obligatory that a story about Olympians and the park itself should be mentioned.
The article by Dave Brown highlights that people would have to wait four years until they can step foot in the Park. There are talks that West Ham Football Club are being considered to take on the stadium and turn it into a football pitch. This story evokes many emotions as local residents may not approve of this and may want other things to happen, therefore we thought it would be good to get their views as this topic can create a lot of controversy.
