Thousands today, march at the UK Anti-cuts demonstration at Hyde Park. Protestors are outraged due to the Government cuts made by the Prime Minister David Cameron alongside the Liberal Democrats. Political Parties, at the march have joined together to form a resistance against the Government, in hoping to push for change on Government policies.’

Sound Effect

New Layout of Radio Production

In this Video, I have briefly explained the changes that we have made to our Radio Production.

Audacity Work

I have used the software Audacity to produce my insert for the Voxpop segment of my newscast. I have sliced, moved and edited the sound in order for it to meet my time frame. During my time in the Studio, I edited the sound even further as our radio production is only up to 5 minutes as this sound clip alone is a minute long which would take up a big part in my radio production.

Here is my Voxpop edited even further.

How to edit sound on Audacity?

I have uploaded this video, as I will use the software Audacity to edit my sound files, my Voxpop in particular. This video will help me, as it will give me tips on how to use Audacity and edit correctly. I do have experience in using Audacity as I used this software during my OCR GCSE course in ICT however, I did not find it that easy to begin with. I have learnt a few tips from this clip such as, you do not need to 'Import' an audio you can simply drag and drop your sound file in the Audacity window.

Worker party Mr Adam Helmsley. Adam, why you are here today?

And what sort of affect do you think this rally will have?

To comment.

Poster on Health Checks

WAV vs. MP3

WAV files are of high quality. When WAV files are downloaded all the information in this file is not lost or taken away. This has its advantage as the sound clip will be of the highest quality, than other file formats such as MP3.
MP3 files are small in size than a WAV file, when an MP3 file is downloaded most information is lost and therefore, takes up less space on a hard drive than a WAV file. MP3 files are commonly used, as many MP3 files can be stored on devices or hard drives than WAV files, as WAV files take up more storage.
Overall, there are benefits of using a WAV file as the sound is at a better quality, but it takes up a lot of space. Whereas, an MP3 file is much smaller in size but the quality of the sound is not at top standard.

I got this statistic from Rajar.co.uk, the statistic shows that '90% of the population' listen to radio per week. What i learn from the statistic is that radio is still and has become more and more popular. 90% of the population still listen to the radio highlighting that radio has not become extinct, and it is still going and competing with new forms of technology. As Technology has advanced, people have wider access when listening to radio. You can listen to radio on your phone, through the internet. You can listen to radio on a chosen website but also have the opportunity to "watch" the radio as now you can watch presenters on the internet whilst they broadcast to the UK.
